Drug Crime
Defense or other Criminal Defense issues or disputes.
Drug related arrests are a common occurrence throughout
Central Florida, with “simple possession” and “possession
with intent to sell” by far being the most common type of
drug crime an individual may be arrested for.
Many individuals are arrested and have their future put in
jeopardy over single event, a single error in judgment, or
even when the individual was truthfully unaware of the drugs
in question being in what law enforcement deems as in the
accused actual physical possession. Many drug arrests are
made in during traffic stops where the led over do not know
their legal rights. For example, a person may have had a
friend or acquaintance in his or her car that dropped their
drugs in the car accidently or intentionally without the
knowledge of the driver. All too often the driver,
truthfully unaware of the drugs being in his or her car is
arrested for a drug crime.
Drug charges may involve illegal drugs as well as and
prescription drugs that are illegally obtained, used, or
sold. Along with drug possession, possession with intent to
sell or distribute, and the sale of illegal drugs, other
drug charges that are considered more serious include
manufacturing or cultivation, distributing, trafficking,
theft, or prescription fraud.
The type of drug charge an individual is arrested and
charged with often is determined based upon factors such as
weight, amount, intent, type of drug, and in some cases how
the drugs were obtained.
If you or a loved onee is an alleged first time offender, we
will fight for you in an effort to ensure a single mistake
or error in judgment does not define the rest of your life.
With any drug charge or other criminal offense, all
evidence, witness statements, and facts of the case must be
put under a microscope in order to protect your legal rights
and freedoms. This also includes the actions of law
enforcement prior to first contact with the police, while
law enforcement is on the scene of the alleged crime, and
even after an arrest takes place. If your civil rights were
violated in any way by law enforcement, we will ensure the
violation or violations of your civil rights are brought to
light.
A criminal conviction for a Drug Crime crime may
result in incarceration, lengthy periods of probation,
fines, or other mandatory classes, mandatory programs, or
penalties that the court may have the authority to impose as
a result of a criminal conviction.
If arrested and charged with committing a Drug Crime crime, make
sure you become fully aware of your legal rights and the
options that may be available to you under the law in order
to reach the best possible outcome relating to the defense
of Drug Crime or other criminal charges you are facing.
